TikTok Couple’s Viral Arizona Bones Discovery Deemed Non-Human, Police
The eerie discovery that captivated true crime circles—bones, a child’s backpack, and a shoe unearthed by TikTok homesteaders Victoria and Coyne Wiggins—has been debunked by police.
The Cochise County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) confirmed to Hot Take Times on Friday that the remains discovered on October 31, 2024, were “non-human,” and that “the backpack/shoe did not have any bearing on them,” following an investigation by the Pima County Medical Examiner.
“A supplement report is being authored and completed by a deputy at this time for inclusion into the file,” CCSO added.
The Wiggins, who documented their RV life in the Arizona desert on TikTok under Wiggins Wild World, had stumbled upon the items while surveying their new property near the U.S.–Mexico border.

Their footage, showing what appeared to be a makeshift "nest," garnered viral speculation around migrant routes and possible human trafficking. The couple’s sudden online disappearance after reporting the find only deepened the mystery.
Cochise County’s history as a migration corridor means abandoned belongings and even deceased migrants are not uncommon in the area, officials explained.
“Literally tons of waste (clothing, etc.) [are] deposited throughout whatever corridor is utilized at the time,” the sheriff’s office noted, adding that migrant deaths from dehydration or hypothermia sadly do occur.
